pic 4) Donald Sutherland and Jane Fonda in ‘Klute:’ Klute’s REMIT was to find the missing Tom Grunemann.
Thanks scchua for the fun. Found an intersesting fact sussing out prime numbers. Cicadas of the genus Magicicada make use of prime numbers in an evolutionary strategy. They spend most of their lives as grubs underground and only pupate and emerge from their burrows after 7, 13 or 17 years, then fly about, breed and die within a few weeks. This makes it very difficult for predators to evolve that could specialise on them.
pic 3) Such a road traffic warning sign helps drivers with their NAVIGATION of the twists and turns ahead ??
Thanks schchua for the continuing fun.
Yes Freddy, that’s Klute and Bree, but it’s not “remit”.
OK, one last throw of the dice:
In the film, Klute was hired by Peter Cable, an IAGO-like character to find the missing Tom Grunemann. AT LONG LAST he released Cable was Tom’s killer, so Cable was right AT HIS DOOR all along.
Freddy and Cookie,
Pic3: Some textbooks have the dangerlous bend symbol in the margin alongside passages that are tricky (in terms of comprehensibility) and not so easily READABLE
Pic4: Bree was a prostitute as was IRMA in “Irma la douce”, played magnificently by Shirley MacLaine in the film.
Good heavens, textbooks must have changed over the last 50 years, or people have got dumber; I must have well over 100 in the house, mostly science ones, in English, American E, French and German, and have never seen the sign !
Yes, “IRMA la Douce” crossed my mind, but I did not know the film “Klute”.
Thanks again scchua.
