Fairly steady progress this week, with just a handful to check in Chambers at the end.
I made life difficult for myself by entering “theatrephone” at 10 across. Entirely my fault, but then I felt I could justify P[ol]E + AKA for the unfamiliar 6 down.

Thanks Simon. Just to let you know someone is listening. Re 19down: career? I vaguely remember such a thing.
As I have said before, dare we assume the NZ references are a clue to which one of them it is, or is it a bluff?
IAC respect as always to Beelzebub.
The Beelzebub you have is the alumnus of St Andrews who rode the train past Raith Rovers’ ground on a regular basis. While Dundee was nearer with two teams in a higher division there was still talk of “how Raith were doing”. And much amusement at the Sassenach who commented, after some exhibition of giant-killing, that there’d be “celebrations in the town of Raith tonight”.
Thanks Beelzebub. Not a bluff then.
