I learned some interesting new words this week. Thank you AZED.

I found this very tricky. I gave up trying to solve this unaided after an hour or more and spent the rest of the morning trawling Wikipedia. Got there in the end! Thank you Gozo.

A very good puzzle.

Not too easy and not too hard, just right. Many times I thought I had come to a complete stop but each time I found just one more chink that showed the way to another solution. Thanks Aardvark, very enjoyable.

Super puzzle from Puck. I found this to be one of those puzzles in which the clues are hard until one solves them, when suddenly they seem to be quite easy. Thanks Puck.

Solved this one quickly enough but I am having trouble explaining some of the clues – any help appreciated. Thanks Hamilton.

A very enjoyable puzzle from Gaff which was sometimes easy and sometimes infuriating (in a good way). Thank you Gaff!

I found this a very enjoyable puzzle. Thanks Alberich.

After a run of blogging successively trickier Independent on Sunday puzzles I get a straightforward puzzle form Hypnos again, though no less enjoyable for that. Both accessible and interesting is what I thought. At the time of writing this I am more than a little tipsy after a long family dinner, so I hope I do Hypnos justice. Thank you Hypnos.

A thoroughly devious offering from Loroso with a couple that I cannot fully explain. Thank you Loroso, great stuff!

A couple of downright obscure words in here but on the whole quite amenable given enough time to think about it. Thank you AZED.

I was struggling on this puzzle for a while. Then I remebered Paul’s style and once I got on his wavelength again answers started jumping into the grid. Thanks Paul for a fine puzzle.

Very nice puzzle, no quibbles from me. Thanks Aardark.

The grid is a little unusual having eight words with two adjacent unchecked letters. This made solving the puzzle difficult as even a half-filled grid left long stretches of empty cells.

A good old fashioned crossword from Magwitch. Sometimes setters seem to be falling over themselves to be novel and inventive (which of course is a good thing) but I also like getting the some quality plain puzzles to solve and blog too. I feel they get a bit overlooked. Thank you Magwitch.
