Financial Times 15,140 – Dante

Now that was initially a shocker. A grid that didn’t fit the enumerations of the clues. I tried to find a suitable grid but what I meanwhile didn’t see was that the clues were exactly the same as in the previous Dante (15,140 – 4 Jan 2016)). It’s been a while since we had Tuesday regular Armonie (aka Chifonie at another place) on the Prize spot. Concise clueing, good surfaces, mostly simple devices.
Enjoyable and relatively easy – although I had some trouble finishing the NE.

S & B London – thank you for a great event

Some setters are better than others, and some crossword gatherings are better than others.
Today’s S & B was simply fantastic for which huge thanks to, who else, John Henderson and Sue Taylor (aka dirkybee)!
As there was no announcement at Fifteensquared, I didn’t know what to expect but the journey to Kings Cross (great venue!) was worth every penny.

Financial Times 15,119 – Dante (Carte Rosee)

It’s the festive season and so it’s time for the annual Carte Rosee , Dante’s Christmas treat.
It’s a crossword with a completely blank grid and clues without clue number and enumeration. Opinions are possibly divided but it wasn’t as bad as it looked.
