A bit of fun for a weekend morning. Solving was fun for most of the trip – plenty of gettable clues to be picked off and enough progress to provide crossing letters for … Read more >>

I realised some weeks ago that my monthly Prize blog was due to fall at the Bank Holiday weekend and, since Maskarade seems to have settled into that slot, I’ve been wondering for … Read more >>
Enigmatic Variations No.1378 – Weightwatchers’ Advice by The Ace of Hearts
“In WEIGHTWATCHERS’ ADVICE, two clues are normal, but their answers must be entered thematically. From the answer to every other clue a letter must be deleted wherever it appears before entry into the grid; definitions refer to the full unmutilated answer, and wordplay to the grid entry. In clue order, the omitted letters give a phrase followed by its definition. This definition should help solvers with the entry method of the two normal clues. Chambers Dictionary (2016) is recommended.”

A good challenge from MUDD this Friday. Generally easy across the board, with just a sprinkle of some unusual words holding up a quick solve. Thanks MUDD.

Found this a little tricky, getting stuck a few times, but it all came together very neatly. Favourites were 21ac, 6dn, 15dn, 19dn, and especially 16dn. Thanks, Nutmeg

As far as we can tell, this is Windsurfer’s second published Indy puzzle. However, as far as fifteensquared is concerned, he has also compiled puzzles for S&B get-togethers in Derby in 2014 and 2106 and York in 2014. Perhaps there will be another for the Leicester S&B on 4th May? (Details on the home page)
