Independent 9,366 by Wiglaf
This is Wiglaf’s fifth crossword in the Independent, although the first one that I have blogged. We seem to have plenty of newish names nowadays, although you wouldn’t know that they were newish because their crosswords are pretty good; as you’d expect of course, as they wouldn’t have got past Eimi if they weren’t.
I found this to be a bit hard in places, but quite sound and any failings were my own. Perhaps a bit clunky in places, such as 5dn, but this is made up for by some very nice clues.
Definitions in italics.

Anglio takes over Dac’s mid-week slot this week, and it fell to us to blog his puzzle last month as well. As with last month’s puzzle there were some excellent surfaces and clever … Read more >>

Trademark cheek-puffing anagrams and some evocative surfaces from Sayang this morning.
Guardian 27,018 – Paul
It’s unusual these days to see Paul on a Tuesday, but being earlier in the week didn’t mean (at least for me) an easier puzzle: I found this quite hard by Paul’s standards, … Read more >>
Guardian Quiptic 883 / Pan
This puzzle would have benefited from more accurate checking as there appears to be two errors (18ac & 13dn) unless I’ve missed something. Edit: perhaps I have missed something in 13dn (thanks Cookie @3). I had … Read more >>
