Apart from the “definitions […] distorted by one Spoonerism” ones being much easier for me, and “don’t give up too easily – checking letters will help”, I don’t have a lot of helpful tips to offer. We have blogged one Spponerisms puzzle in the past – no. 1862. So a short go at that puzzle followed by reading the blog may help you understand what you’re looking for in No. 1927.

Hi Peter, thanks for the info. I have no chance at this puzzle, however after looking around for a starting point these links may help some what, if totally stuck. There’s also a couple of email address’s to contact with tips.
Links to answers removed. Jake, please don’t post such links for a prize puzzle that is still current. Gaufrid
Gaufrid – Sorry about that Sir, after I posted them I thought I shouldn’t of.
Sorry.
Jake.
I agree that the clues with Spoonerised definitions tend to be a lot easier. I think it’s a bit of a flaw in the format that the other type of clue often defines something that is not a standard expression. I’ll be blogging this puzzle next weekend and may have more to say on the subject then.
