A reminder that there will be a Derby Sloggers & Betters event on Saturday 5th May at The Brunswick Inn, next to Derby railway station. All the details are in the original post which is to be found in the Announcements section of the site.
This is to ask that anyone who would like to join us and hasn’t said so already lets us know below before Friday 27th. To those folk who said ‘I’ll let you know nearer the time’ in the earlier post: this is the time, please, because I have to confirm numbers and pay for the buffet lunch. This will be served at 1.00pm. It’s not obligatory, but if you don’t want one, then please be aware that the menu shown on the pub’s website won’t be available between 2.30pm and 5.30pm, so you won’t be able to order any food between those times.
It’s a lovely pub, the company will be engaging, and newcomers will be particularly welcome. Eileen and I look forward to seeing you on the 5th.
Peter (Kathryn’s Dad)
Hi Peter,
I will be there,
Richard
Thanks, Dutch. Do you need a buffet?
Peter
Bev and I will both be there. And two for the buffet please. No special requirements, just, as usual, lots of it!
Sorry peter – yes please count me in for the buffet
Sorry to say that it’s looking as if I shan’t be able to make it to Derby on the 5th. Enjoy yourselves.
Confirming that I’ll be there, but won’t partake of the buffet (I’ll arrive in time to order from the menu).
As for parking nearby, there is a limited amount of on-street parking within easy walking distance. Maximum stay is 4 hours for which the charge is £4.30 – but charges only apply up to 6.00 pm.
My apologies for missing the deadline. I will now be coming to Derby on the Saturday afternoon. I’d like to have the buffet, but in case this is too late, I’ll stock up with emergency chocolate bars at the station
I will be there, complete with canine companion. Neither Tess nor I will require the buffet, thanks.
I would like to attend if possible please.
Sorry for the late notification. (And I will not be there for the buffet.)
Thanks Peter and Eileen for an enjoyable gathering yesterday. Thanks also for ordering the sunny weather.
Thanks to Eileen and Peter and sorry I couldn’t stay longer…
Yes, this was excellent and I think I met quite a few crossword fans who I’d not met before. Many thanks, Peter and Eileen.
