Due to the number of times during recent months that a valid entry has been rejected, I have disabled the Captcha plugin, so you will no longer need to complete a Captcha when posting a comment, at least for the time being.
I have installed an alternative method of preventing spambots from depositing their unwanted comments, but if this proves to be unsuccessful then I may need to reintroduce a Captcha (though I hope this won’t be necessary).
Please let me know if you find any problems with this new arrangement, either via a comment below or, if the problem relates to not being able to add a comment, by sending an email to admin{at}fifteensquared{dot}net.
I was one of those who had a valid captcha rejected (at least 5 times) but had no such problems over the last week. Go figure
What sometimes happens is the page is still loading, but in the background , so you wouldn’t notice it. A Captcha is displayed, but a stale one, so user fills it in and submits – of course, the page finally loads and the captcha is refreshed, but by then the users entry is wrong.

Oddly enough, although I’ve never had a captcha rejected, when I tried to comment yesterday, my first attempt got refused and I was redirected to an “Automattic privacy policy” (not Akismet) page which had nothing in the way of an explanation of why the comment was rejected. I can’t remember more than the gist now, but I assure you it was [totally brilliant and…] neither libellous, obscene, politically incorrect, nor abusive.

Thanks for the feedback. Automattic is the company that created the anti-spam plugin Akismet. There was an update to the plugin, which I installed on Sunday, to ensure compliance with the new EU privacy regulations. I can’t explain why you were redirected Automatic’s privacy policy but if you want to read it again there is a link to it in this site’s Privacy Policy page.
