    Thanks GURNEY and Turbolegs!
    FF8 DD6. Yes Yes!

  2. KVa

LA-DI-DA (my parsing was very slightly different)
    Def: Affected (‘seen as’-link words).

  3. Geoff Down Under

A “Huh?” list of zero. Doesn’t often happen. An enjoyable puzzle with nothing too obscure, thanks Gurney & Turbolegs.

  4. Diane

A lovely puzzle from Gurney with a very pleasing set of clues overall of which my favourites were GADABOUT, CHAMELEON and INELEGANT.
    Thanks to Gurney and Turbolegs.

  5. KVa

    GDU!
I have a feeling that your ‘Huh’ list may stay this way today elsewhere too.

  6. Martyn

As Diane and FDU wrote. Thanks Gurney and Turbolegs

  7. Martyn

Oops, me@6 – make that GDU, not FDU.

  8. KVa

    Martyn@7
    Visit yesterday’s blog once!

  9. PostMark

Very enjoyable, top to bottom. Fun to be left staring at CHEWY at the end, having tried inserting various initial letters and hoping the synonym for ‘client’ would become clear, before realising it was the initial letters of everything.

    Thanks Gurney and Turbolegs

  10. Diane

My last one in too, Postmark, and for the same reason!

  11. Tony Santucci

Thanks Gurney. This was a quick solve unlike other crosswords this week. Top picks were FREELOADER, ULSTER, CHEWY (LOI), INELEGANT, and FLOOR. Thanks Turbolegs for the blog.

  12. FrankieG

19d TREETOP took me back to the ’60s – ‘There’s more fruity flavour in, | Fresh fruity flavour, | True fruity flavour in, | Tree Top!’
Nice one – Thanks G&T (I’d prefer one of those these days)

  13. Mandrake

Can somebody tell me what FF and DD stand for

  14. KVa

Fun Factor and Degree of Difficulty!
    This is a Turbolegs patent!

  15. Pelham Barton

    Thanks Gurney and Turbolegs

5dn partly in response to Peter@11: I think this is a regular double definition, the first definition “Colourful display” relating to the original meaning as a noun and the second definition (the rest of the clue) to the metaphorical meaning as an adjective, given for example in Chambers 2016 as “involving people of different ethnic origins or political views”.

  16. SM

Further to Pelham Barton @17. South Africa , the Rainbow Nation!

Thanks G & T. Fun, clear puzzle and blog .

  17. Mark A

Like Postmark @9 … Really kicking myself for stumbling over something as glaringly obvious as 6D

  18. Gurney

Many thanks for the excellent blog, Turbolegs, and thanks also to all who commented.

  19. Martin Brice

Am slightly annoyed at spelling of 3D clue: there’s only one N in unacceptable.

  20. Gurney

Martin@21 – apologies for that mistype which I did not spot.
