Site Maintenance

Yesterday (June 27th) the site was unavailable for a while. This was due to planned maintenance by the hosting company.

Everything should be back to normal now but if you still have problems, please reply here.

In case you can’t reply then please send an email to admin

  1. Test message. Hi Ken – things look normal today although a Test Message on yesterday’s Indy blog did not post but hung there until I refreshed the page. A comment on GD went in OK. I understand one of the bloggers is unable to post their blog this morning.

OK – so that went in and appeared as normal – I’ve popped in to edit mode to add this suffix.

However, trying to add a Test message to the end of yesterday’s Guardian blog hung for a while and then appeared. It doesn’t look as if we are completely out of the woods yet.

  2. Test message. No blogs up yet so I thought I’d test…
[edit] Looks OK. Thumbs crossed for the bloggers.

  3. I don’t know if you are seeing these messages, Ken. I know Eileen has been trying to post eh G blog since about 7.30 or so this morning but she is still getting the maintenance message as of 9.27. Cannot even see the 225 home page. I know she has been trying to contact you direct. Good luck sorting this out.

  4. On Chrome, Safari and Edge, it’s working for me. On Chrome, it was off and on in the morning but now it’s ok.

  5. I was checking during the day yesterday, and I finally noticed that the site was back up around midnight my time (5:00 AM London). I have not had a chance to try adding a blog yet or performing any other functions behind-the-scenes.

  6. It is 9:49 am PDT Jun 28 in the US.
I am able to post this using my Android phone with DuckDuckGo browser.

An attempt on my Ubuntu desktop with Firefox unsuccessful with ‘under maintenance’ message.

  7. Re #10, #11, I got around it by deleting file which I had bookmarked, then Googling using a search for a particular setter’s name and getting in again.

It had been still showing the “maintenance” note on my PC though my phone was never affected, except during the maintenance itself.

  8. Thanks Kenmac. I’ve deleted a range of things on my phone (including cookies and cache) and the site now works. However, I’ll look at those instructions on my desktop later, as I don’t want to lose all my cookies.
